All sites present and accounted for

ULCC has now set up the sites for all the Colleges! Very exciting! The BLE Tech Team members have been chomping on the bit to get their hands on their sites to start building them. And now they can :)

Moodle training for the BLE Technical Team

The announcements have been made at all but one College to advise about the transition from Blackboard to Moodle. I'm really looking forward for the last one to be made so I can announce our news to the world a little more publicly! For now, I can at least blog about the activities so far.

Last week, ULCC provided Moodle training for the BLE Technical Team. It was a packed two-day course, which covered both practical and administrative activities. Day 1 was a "training-the-trainer" workshop, so we could see what our staff would need to learn in order to set up and run courses in Moodle. Day 2 covered the site administration of Moodle, so we know what we can tweak. The training was excellent value and the trainers were extremely flexible and able to cope with our merry band of learning technologists!

Also last week, I attended Birkbeck's Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Working Group, which is geared up to provide the steer for Birkbeck's migration to Moodle - their second VLE migration in 3 years. LSHTM held their inaugural project board meeting this week where the elearning manager presented the migration project plan and demonstrated a choice of designs for the interface. I'm really pleased how engaged and excited the BLE team are with the project!
